What is a rainbow baby?

A "Rainbow baby" is a baby born after a loss. Whether from miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant loss. Like a rainbow after a storm, these babies represent hope, healing, and new life after heartache.

A rainbow newborn photoshoot honors not just the baby in your arms, but the journey that brought you here. It's emotional, it's sacred, and it deserves to be treated with care, sensitivity, and deep respect.

A note from my heart to yours

If you're reading this and holding your rainbow baby or still waiting to, I want to pause and say:

I see you. I honor the path you've walked, and I am deeply sorry for the loss that came before this moment.

No two journeys are the same, and whatever yours looked like, it mattered. You've carried love and grief and hope all in one heart. That takes so much strength most people can't imagine.

It's the greatest honor to photograph a rainbow baby. But even more than that, it's a privilege to serve you.

How we can honor your baby's rainbow story

As both a mom and newborn photographer, I understand the emotional layers that come with a rainbow baby. These sessions are tender, and they deserve to be approached gently.

When families book a rainbow newborn photoshoot with me, I will incorporate a rainbow into your session in a meaningful way.

I have a rainbow colored headband, background, floral accents, and rainbow stuffy for baby to hold.

It's nothing over the top, but just a small way to honor it.

A light after the storm

A rainbow newborn photoshoot is about honoring the baby you hold and the ones you don't. It's about grace after grief.

Know that you don't have to explain your loss to me if you don't want to share. But if you decide to, I'll listen and hold your story in my heart.
